English in mathematics?!!!????

Talking of usage of English in Mathematics, yes, we agree with sir that many of us are still and some just getting used to talking in English. In terms of Mathematics, from our experience in SEP last semester, some students especially weak students have problem understanding mathematics concepts in English. It is due to their lack of proficiency in English language hence it affects their understanding in Mathematics. Teachers too are struggling to teach the students to help understand the mathematics concept. They even have to use translation to teach mathematics so that students understand better. So, is it to blame the lack of proficiency in English that makes them difficult to understand mathematics concept? Is translation is only the solution to this problem?
Meanwhile, the advanced students are able to cope up with the subject. Some even could grasp the concepts easily. In Malaysian context, these students that can understand the mathematics in English easily because some come from English-spoken background while some speak English frequently in their daily communication. That is why they are able to grasp the content easily.
So, is this true that only students that have frequent practice in English are able to understand mathematics in English better?
IT IS SOMETHING THAT WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT!!!!!!!!!

Relevance!?!

It is indeed a good tool to enhance teaching and learning of mathematics specifically shapes(2D).Young learners are able to recognize shapes easily by just exploring through geometers sketchpad. Moreover, children able to show creativity in creating objects using different shapes. They can even reinforce through the use of colours and naimation. However, it struck our mind whether how far is the relevance of colours and animation for primary mathematics education. Yes, we agree that children love colours and they learn better with through colours. In short, it comes to a conclusion that it depends how the teacher would want to implement this in the activities.

Exploration on Geometer Sketchpad

It's something way new for us..we never know that by just using this geometer sketchpad...not only merely drawing shapes but this software can help teachers to determine the coordinates of the shapes when being labelled...We wonder it can also teach tesselations and formation of shapes.

However, we felt that the teacher should be well-verse in this software first before introducing them to the learners..as we know young learners tend to rely to teachers when they are expose to new materials..
